his research was conducted to assess potential of a fuzzy logic approach for flood hazard modelling in five sub-urban basins in Hamadan city, Iran. The Soil Conservation Service (SCS) method in the Hydrologic Modeling System (HEC-HMS) model was used to assess the accuracy of this method. The results revealed that the two employed methods had almost the same outcomes. In the fuzzy method, suburban 2 and suburban 3 showed the maximum and minimum flood hazard degrees, respectively. In the SCS method, these two suburban basins exhibited the maximum and minimum flood hazard values, respectively. Furthermore, in the SCS method, they presented almost the same value in terms of flood hazard zoning.
