Abstract

ABSTRACT: Identification of effective factors in the talent detection of triathlon exercise as an extra-discipline field is an issue of importance. The purpose of this study was to investigate the role of selected physiological factors in the talent detection of triathlon exercise. The present study was carried out using a semi-experimental approach with a prospective approach. Of the total of 5435 male students in Zanjan, 293 individuals were randomly assigned to an age range and weight, and height 12.8 ± 0.5, 49.1 ± 9.4 and 159 ± 9.9, respectively. Data were collected from the triathlon register entry form and physiological variables including resting heart rate, maximum beat, beats variability, anaerobic power and fatigue index. For statistical analysis, multiple regression analysis and variance analysis with error less than (0.05) were used. According to the research findings, the correlation coefficient (R) between the physiological variables of the subjects and their triathlon record was 0.772. This means that there is a significant correlation between the variables listed with the triathlon record and the amount of adjusted adjustment coefficient (R2 adj) of the variables was 0.590, which showed that about 59% of the total factors affecting the triathlon record depended on the selected physiological indices in this study. In other words, the factors influencing the talent detection of the triathlon exercise in the present study, the physiological variables range can predict and estimate about 59% of the variance of the three-player record. According to the above findings, it can be concluded that the obtained regression model, composed of independent physiological variables and triathlon record variable, is a good model for identifying triathlon exercise potential and the set of physiological variables selected can explain and predict the triathlon record of the subjects.
