The direct displacement-based design method is developed for the LCF structural system. The proposed design method includes the introduction of the analytical relationships for the yield drift profile calculations developed in the companion paper (Part 1), selection of the design displacement profile in the LCF system and providing criteria to control its performance and ensure the expected behavior of the system. To evaluate the proposed method, some prototype structures with different configurations designed and assessed using nonlinear time-history dynamic analysis. The obtained results indicate that the LCF structures designed by the proposed method can achieve successfully the expected performance objectives.
