This research describes development of a hybrid advanced oxidation processes (AOP) using a fixed bed photocatalytic hexagonal prism reactor. The beds were consisted of light expanded clay aggregates (LECA) in which nano titania particles (as photocatalyst) were coated on the LECA surface. Degradation of the direct red 16 (DR16)molecules was followed as a model pollutant in aqueous media. The influence of the nano particles and the initial pH were evaluated. The role of active species was determined and the process kinetic was studied. Also, the hybrid UV/H2O2/TiO2–LECA process with synergistic property was developed considering to both of the process efficiency and operating cost.
