Although map reading is considered as a crucial skill in education, students face a number of problems practicing it. This study aims at comparing two media: digital puzzle map and the usual cardboard puzzle. The Method of this paper is experimental, and the samples are chosen randomly from among the elementary school students in Malayer, Iran. Samples are 30 students distributed in two groups replicated on the basis of their achievement means. One group practice with digital puzzle map while the other group practice with usual cardboard puzzle map after training. Then, they are required to answer a test of Iran's geographical map. The results revealed that students showed significant differences in their means with digital puzzle map in comparison with the cardboard puzzle one. In conclusions, digital puzzle map had a significant effect on the students map reading skill. Hence, we recommend the use of digital maps to enhance the student skill.
