Abstract

In this paper, a decoding procedure for cyclic codes of odd length over the ring F_p + vF_p is presented. Also a decoding method for cyclic codes over ring R is proposed decoding of cyclic codes over R_i is available. Since any finite principal ideal ring is isomorphic to a finite product of chain rings, we can decode cyclic codes over finite principal ideal ring, when decoding of cyclic codes over chain rings is given
