Considering the capability of artificial neural network (ANN) in predicting nonlinear phenomena such as wastewater treatment, in this study the ANN was used to predict two major wastewater quality parameters including Biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) and chemical oxygen demand (COD). The normal root mean square error (NRMSE) criterion for prediction of COD and TSS were 0.16 and 0.19, respectively. The corresponding correlation coefficients were 0.851 and 0.802, respectively. In general, the results indicated that accuracy of the ANN technique in prediction of COD was more than BOD.
