The purpose of this paper is to synthesize polyanisidine/Fe3O4 NPs (PAnis- Fe3O4 NPs) nanocomposites and investigate the anticorrosion properties of polyansidine- Fe3O4-containing coating on Steel304 alloy.[1] The PAnis- Fe3O4 composites were prepared by in situ chemical oxidative polymerization in chloridic acid medium.[2] The PAnis- Fe3O4 nanocomposites were characterized by Fourier transform infrared, X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy techniques. thin layer of the Fe3O4-PAnis nanocomposites was used to coating austenitic stainless steel as corrosion protector film in NaCl 3.5%The anticorrosion properties were investigated by potentiodynamic polarization curves.[3] The results indicated that the PAnis- Fe3O4 NPs-containing coating on Steel304 demonstrated good anticorrosion properties in 3.5 wt% NaCl solution. It has been found that the OCP of PANI- Fe3O4- containing coating were able to maintain more noble potential values in comparison to pure coatings in 3.5 wt% NaCl solution. Observed results showed a dramatic shift in corrosion potential and a decrease in cathodic and anodic reactions rate in Tafel plots.
