Abstract

Introduction: The purpose of this research was the effect of exercise and physical activity on the mechanism of neurogenesis Exercise and physical activity have a positive effect on the mechanism of neurogenesis. This is because exercise increases the production of certain growth factors in the brain, such as brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), which is essential for the growth and survival of neurons. Additionally, exercise improves blood flow to the brain, which may help stimulate neurogenesis. Overall, regular exercise and physical activity can have significant benefits for brain health and cognitive function. Materials and Methods: The research method in this study was to search for articles related to the words exercise, physical activity, mechanism of neurogenesis, Google Scholar, PubMed, Scopus databases were used. Results: According to research, exercise can create new neurons in the hippocampus, which is a critical area of the brain for memory development. In addition, exercise can increase the production of proteins that help neurons grow and survive. These changes in the brain may explain why exercise improves memory and neurogenesis in animal and human studies. Discussion: Exercise has a positive effect on the mechanism of neurogenesis, which is the process of generating new neurons in the brain, so exercise may be an effective way to improve brain function and reduce the risk of neurological diseases.
