Antibiotic resistant pathogens have caused a challenge in the effectiveness of antimicrobial agents. The present investigation describes the modification of chitosan nanoparticles by a curcumin/quaternary pyridinium compound. The results showed that the hybrid compound is a potent antibacterial agent, attributing to synergic effect of quaternary pyridinium and chitosan segments.
