Abstract

Myrtle is among the plants that because of special conditions of grow and develop in warm areas and unfavorable has an important role in maintaining the environment in these areas. The main purpose of this study was to compare the various propagation methods of Myrtus communis . In order to reproduce the plant were used three methods consists of seeding in vitro, planting cuttings in the greenhouse, seeding with different treatments. For Seeding treatments was used half and one percent hydrogen peroxide for 24 hours, sulfuric acid and nitric acid for two, five and seven minutes and gibberellic acid at concentrations of 250, 500 and 1000 mgL-1 for 30 minutes. In the first experiment, the highest germination was obtained by using half and one percent of hydrogen peroxide and gibberellic acid at concentrations of 500 and 1000 mgL-1. In cuttings culture was used three types of auxin consist of IBA, NAA and 2,4-D at concentrations of 500, 1000, 2000, 4000, 6000 and 8000 mgL-1. In a second experiment, the highest rate of rooting was obtained by using IBA at concentration 4000 mgL-1. For seeding in vitro was used MS medium containing hormone of BA and NAA at concentrations of 0, one, two, four and eight mgL-1. In the third experiment, cultured in vitro results obtained with BA at four milligrams per liter concentrations. According to the results, seed tissue culture on MS medium with 4 mgL-1BA, the best result was observed. If the goal is to produce seedlings of plants used cuttings by using 4000 mgL-1IBA hormone concentration has useful effects.
