In this study, ZnO, CoFe2O4/ZnO and CoFe2O4/ZnO/Ag were synthesized by co-precipitation Route. The structural, microstructural and magnetic properties of nanopowders were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). Photocatalytic examination of the nanopowders was carried out using aqueous solution of acid violet under visible light irradiation. The X-ray diffraction patterns exhibited that there is no extra impurity phase in the compounds. The scanning electron micrographs indicated that for all powders the mean particle size is below 50 nm. The photocatalytic results demonstrated the CoFe2O4/ZnO nanocomposite has a remarkable influence on the photocatalytic activity rather than other samples. In the case of CoFe2O4/ZnO the influence of removing dye showed that after 1 hour the absorbtion peak of acid violet has dropped considerably.
