Abstract

In present paper, density, and viscosity values for binary systems of benzaldehyde + 2-propanol or 2-butanol or 2-pentanol have been measured over the entire range of composition and within the temperature range of 293.15−323.15 K. From these data, thermal expansion coefficient, excess thermal expansion coefficient, the pressure dependence of the excess molar enthalpy, partial molar volume, excess molar volume, and viscosity deviation were calculated. Vm E is positive and decreases with rise of temperature and Δη is negative and increases with increasing temperature. Effect of temperature and carbon chain of alcohols on thermodynamic behavior of mixtures was discussed. The density values were used to test the applicability of the PC-SAFT model and the calculated density by this theory compared well with the corresponding experimental data
