In this research zinc ferrite and cobalt ferrite nanoparticles were fabricated by thermal treatment method. The structural characteristics and magnetic properties of samples were conducted by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) .The results obtained from XRD confirmed the presence of zinc ferrite and cobalt ferrite phases with a cubic spinel structure. The average particle size of zinc ferrite and cobalt ferrite was estimated as 31 and 34 nm respectively, which confirmed by Scherer formula. The results obtained from VSM showed that saturation magnetization (Ms) of cobalt ferrite nanoparticles was larger than zinc ferrite nanoparticles. Moreover, the results of VSM demonstrated superparamagnetic behavior for zinc ferrite nanoparticles and ferromagnetic behavior for cobalt ferrite nanoparticles.
