The results of this stay have been excellent in comparison with others student doing stays in my laboratory allowing the student to assay different laboratory protocols as well as analysis techniques in molecular marker application inc1uding DNA extraction using different methods, DNA amplification using PCR and electrophoresis analysis. In addition, he work in the application of different strategies for the development of markers linked to almond flowering such as the development of genetic linkage maps and the QTLs location and the Bulk Segregant Analysis (BSA). On the other hand, he was setting up different techniques to improve the breeding process inc1uding the storage of pollen, and the propagation of plan material in controlled conditions.
