This research focuses on producing acrylonitrile-co-butadiene-co-styrene (ABS) components using the fused deposition modeling (FDM) technology. For this purpose, a series of tensile and surface roughness tests were performed to assess the primary mechanical properties of specimens. The geometrical data of the specimens was subjected to statistical analysis to assess the dimensional and mechanical performances utilized in the context of three-dimensional (3D) printing. It was found that the proportional limit and rise strength validate the distinct characteristics of ABS specimens produced using FDM regarding the ultimate tensile strength (UTS), proportional limit stress (PLS), and surface roughness (SR). Also, it was essential to consider the disparities above and the derived permissible thresholds for the ascertained mechanical properties to design diminutive structures. The findings of this study proposed the utilization of ABS components in the FDM approach for producing diminutive structural components and the execution of necessary validations.
